Our Story
The Avalon History Center focuses on Avalon, NJ’s rich heritage—from pre-development days to its transformation into a beloved seaside resort. Initially developed and constructed by the Avalon Historical Society in 2001, the museum became a part of the Avalon Free Public Library in 2008. The Avalon History Center presents thoughtfully curated exhibits showcasing photographs, artifacts, and stories from the late 1800s through the vibrant decades of the 20th century. Open six days a week, admission is always free, and displays are regularly updated to reflect new discoveries and seasonal themes.
